Did trump defund cancer research?

We have a history of cancer in our family, so any news related to research funding really concerns me. I saw some headlines a while back suggesting that Trump might have defunded cancer research. Was this accurate, or just political talk?

I completely panicked when I first saw some articles claiming cancer research was being defunded. But after checking reliable sources, I realized the funding actually increased because the US Congress stepped in to protect the budget. So don't worry, the research is absolutely safe.

There's no need to waste time debating US political funding since global pharma and private institutions handle a massive portion of oncology research anyway. If you want to take practical steps for your family, ensure you have comprehensive health insurance that covers modern cancer treatments. That is far more useful.

My father was part of an international cancer study a few years ago, and we were also worried about budget news back then. But the doctors reassured us that international collaborations keep the research moving regardless of political shifts. He got excellent treatment, which gave us a lot of peace.

These big political news items come and go, but we should focus on protecting our health at home with simple, wholesome food. While we must trust the hospital doctors for any serious illnesses, eating healthy and staying active helps our bodies stay strong naturally. Let us not worry too much about what happens across the seas.

To clarify, no president can just unilaterally 'defund' cancer research. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) gets its budget approved by Congress, and they actually kept raising the funds for cancer studies during those years. The medical pipeline is still very much active.
