Did trump cut cancer research funding?

My father-in-law was recently diagnosed with cancer, so I've been following news about this topic closely. I heard some reports about the previous US administration, Trump, cutting cancer research funding. Can anyone confirm if this is true and what the impact was?

If you look at the actual data on health tech portals, global funding for biotech is at an all-time high. Even if there were proposed government cuts in the US back then, private venture capital and global pharma have more than made up for it. The research pipeline for cancer therapy is actually very solid.

I don't know much about international politics, but does this mean new treatments will become more expensive for us here in India? My grandfather is undergoing cancer treatment right now, and we always worry about the costs. If anyone has any information on this, please let me know.

Haan na, these political decisions always create so much confusion and fear for normal people. We already have so much stress in our lives without these big news updates, ho na. Thankfully, it seems the funding didn't actually get stopped, so we can breathe easy.

As someone working in the healthcare field, I can tell you that clinical trials and oncology research are still going strong. Proposed budget cuts by a president have to go through multiple stages of approval, and they rarely affect the actual ground-level research. Don't worry, the development of new drugs is not stopping.

It is so heartbreaking to think about any cuts to health funding when so many poor families are suffering. When we were taking care of my neighbor, we realized how costly everything is. We can only pray that governments keep supporting medical research so treatments become cheaper for everyone.
