For a diabetic dinner, you want to focus on high fiber and lean protein to avoid overnight sugar crashes or spikes. A big bowl of mixed vegetable soup with grilled paneer or chicken is excellent. Keep the carbs very minimal at night, it helps a lot.

In our house, we prefer a light dinner of oats upma with plenty of vegetables, or simple methi rotis. Eating early, by 7:30 PM, is a very effective traditional way to keep blood sugar stable. You can also have a cup of warm water with a pinch of cinnamon powder before bed.

Bro, just go low-carb for dinner. I usually have boiled eggs with a big stir-fry salad or some roasted paneer with broccoli. It keeps my morning fasting sugar totally in control. Skip the rice and heavy rotis at night, trust me.

When my father was diagnosed, the dieticians at our hospital gave us a customized diet chart based on his body weight and HbA1c. They recommended a portion-controlled meal with green veggies and sprouts. Please ask your doctor for a referral to a good clinical nutritionist, they know best.

I make dinner for my dad who has diabetes, and we usually do a bowl of dal khichdi made with brown rice or foxtail millet, packed with spinach. It is super comforting, easy to digest, and doesn't shoot up his sugar levels the next morning. Give it a try!
