Could thyroid problems cause high blood pressure?

Recently diagnosed with high blood pressure, my doctor is trying to find the underlying cause. My sister has thyroid issues, and it made me wonder if thyroid problems could also lead to high blood pressure?

Actually yes, yaar. Both hypo and hyperthyroidism can mess with your blood pressure. My mom has thyroid issues and her BP shot up out of nowhere. Once the thyroid was controlled, her BP also got normal.

Thyroid hormones play a big role in regulating your metabolism and cardiovascular system. If your thyroid is underactive or overactive, it can definitely cause your blood pressure to rise. It's best to consult your general physician for a combined treatment plan.

The body is a beautiful connected system, and thyroid imbalances can easily affect your blood flow and pressure. Stay positive, eat fresh home-cooked food, and let the doctors guide your treatment. Take care of yourself.

Yes, hypothyroidism makes blood vessels stiff, which increases blood pressure. Hyperthyroidism makes the heart beat faster, also raising BP. Make sure you don't skip your daily thyroid pill as prescribed.

Yes, it can. And having to cut down on both salt for BP and processed food for thyroid is the hardest part of it! But seriously, keeping your thyroid under control makes managing your health and diet much easier.

I had borderline high BP for a year until a routine checkup revealed my thyroid levels were completely off. Once my doctor put me on thyroxine, my BP returned to perfect levels within two months. Get both tested.

My doctor just told me my thyroid might be causing my high blood pressure readings. Has anyone else here faced this combination? I'm feeling a bit anxious about having to take multiple medicines.

My elders always tell me to drink coriander water for thyroid, but I strictly follow my doctor's prescription. Thyroid issues do put pressure on the heart and blood vessels. Please trust your doctor and get regular checkups.
