Could pain in both hands be arthritis?

My mother has been complaining about pain in both of her hands for a few weeks now, especially in the mornings. Her joints feel stiff. Could this kind of pain in both hands be a sign of arthritis?

Bro, I get terrible hand pain during exam season from typing non-stop. If you are also using your phone or laptop constantly, it might just be strain. But if it's stiff in the mornings, maybe ask a doc.

Beta, at this stage of life, joint pains do start showing up. Try soaking your hands in warm water with rock salt in the evening to reduce the stiffness. But do visit a doctor to see if you need some calcium or vitamin D supplements.

My hands ache so much morning and night that rolling rotis has become a workout! It could be arthritis or just the body's way of complaining about getting older. Better to get it checked before your fingers refuse to cooperate completely.

Yes, pain in both hands simultaneously can definitely indicate arthritis. You should consult an orthopedic doctor for a proper diagnosis.

Symmetrical pain in both hands is a classic sign of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Don't waste time on local balms and massages. Go to a good rheumatologist and get an RA factor and anti-CCP blood test done immediately.
