Could acid reflux cause upper back pain?

Chronic acid reflux has been a struggle for a while, and recently, this nagging pain in my upper back developed too. Could there be a connection? I'm wondering if acid reflux can actually cause upper back pain.

Honestly, at my age, even breathing wrong seems to cause back pain. But yes, severe acidity and gas absolutely push pressure upwards and make my upper back stiff. I just walk it off and drink cold milk, otherwise my body feels like an old car engine.

Yes, it actually can happen quite often. When gas or acid builds up, the pain can radiate to your shoulder blades and upper back. Please try to drink some warm water and rest for a bit, it should ease down soon.

It definitely does. I used to get this sharp upper back pain after heavy dinner meetings and thought it was a gym injury, but my doc confirmed it was just bad GERD. If it's persistent, stop self-treating and get an antacid prescribed by a doctor.

Yes, high acid levels can irritate the nerves leading to your upper back. I suggest eating a simple, non-spicy dinner like khichdi before 7:30 PM. Adding cold fennel water to your routine can also naturally soothe the stomach lining.

Yes! Acid reflux is quite sneaky and can mimic muscle pain in your back. Try eating smaller meals and don't lie down immediately after dinner. Hope you feel better super soon!

I went through this exact same thing last month and was so scared it was something else. It turned out to be severe acidity from skipping lunch. Chamomile tea and sitting upright for an hour after dinner really helped me manage it.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai. Jab heavy acidity hoti hai na, toh pain piche shoulders tak jata hai. Try skipping spicy food for two days and see if the back pain goes away on its own.

Reflux can definitely cause that radiating pain, but don't ignore it if it keeps happening. I have thyroid issues and always make sure to get regular blood tests and consult my general physician. It is best to let a doctor run some basic checks to rule out other things.

Acidity can cause back spasms, yes. Before spending thousands on expensive MRI scans or heart tests, try visiting a local clinic GP first. A simple 50 rupee prescription for antacids might solve it, saving you a lot of unnecessary hospital bills.

Welcome to adulthood, where eating one extra samosa feels like a physical attack on your spine! It is just the gas playing football inside your rib cage. Drink some buttermilk and lay off the spices for a bit.
