Can zoloft cause abdominal pain?

Ever since I started Zoloft a few weeks ago, I've been getting frequent abdominal pain and discomfort. It's really bothering me. Could this medication be the cause of my stomach issues?

Yes, abdominal pain and stomach upset are quite common when starting Zoloft. Managing my BP has taught me that stomach issues can affect your overall comfort and pressure levels. Keep a check on your diet, avoid spicy food, and mention this to your doctor during your routine follow-up.

Yes, it can definitely cause a bit of tummy ache initially! This is usually just your body adjusting to the medication. Try having it with some food to see if it helps settle your stomach.

A lot of our nervous system is in our gut, so medications like Zoloft can easily disturb digestion. From my experience, practicing Vajrasana after light meals and drinking warm fennel water can help soothe the abdominal discomfort gently.

I developed severe gastritis and abdominal pain when I started my antidepressants, which I ignored until it got worse. Please do not ignore persistent stomach pain, especially if you see dark stools. It is highly recommended to seek professional medical advice.

Actually, yaar, when I first started Zoloft, my stomach was in knots for the first two weeks. It was super annoying, but my doc told me to take it exactly at the same time with a heavy meal, and that actually solved the issue.

Look, any antidepressant can mess with your stomach in the first few weeks. Don't panic, but don't just sit with the pain either. Talk to your prescribing doctor; they might prescribe an antacid or adjust the timing to help your stomach cope.

Bro, I had terrible stomach cramps during my first week on Zoloft. It felt like a bad food poisoning episode. I just stuck to simple curd-rice, and the pain went away completely by day ten.

Since Zoloft affects serotonin levels, which are highly active in your gut, abdominal pain is a known issue. I suggest focusing on a bland, easy-to-digest vegetarian diet with plenty of probiotics like buttermilk. If the pain persists, definitely consult your physician.
