Can your liver hurt after a night of drinking?

Sometimes after a night out with friends where I've had a bit too much to drink, I wake up feeling generally unwell, and sometimes there's a specific discomfort on my right side. Is it possible that my liver itself is hurting after drinking alcohol?

Haha, yes, that is your liver crying and asking why you did this to it! It is usually temporary inflammation or dehydration from the alcohol. Drink lots of coconut water, give it a rest, and it should settle down soon.

Honestly, after staying up till 4 AM partying, my whole body hurts, including my right side. Alcohol inflames the liver temporarily, which causes that heavy ache. Just sleep it off, drink water, and maybe cut back on the drinks next time.

Oh absolutely, especially if you paired those drinks with heavy, greasy chakna! The liver has to work extra hard to process both the alcohol and the fat. Try eating light khichdi the next day and give your system a break.

Let's be direct, yes it can. Alcohol is a toxin and your liver gets inflamed trying to filter it out, which causes that dull ache on your right side. If this is happening often, you need to stop drinking and get a liver function test immediately.

In my younger days, I also experienced that heavy, dull ache after late-night gatherings. It is a clear warning sign from your body to slow down. Be kind to your organs, hydrate well, and visit a doctor if the pain doesn't go away.

Hey, don't stress too much, it is likely just temporary swelling from the heavy night. Drink plenty of water and liquid fluids today to flush out the toxins. Just make sure to take a long break from alcohol and let your body recover!
