Can your blood sugar crash without diabetes?

Sometimes I feel really lightheaded, shaky, and just weak, almost like I haven't eaten in ages, even when I have. My mother has diabetes, but I don't. Can blood sugar levels drop too low even if you're not diabetic?

Yes, reactive hypoglycemia can happen to anyone if you eat too many simple carbs on an empty stomach. I used to get dizzy after high-sugar breakfast shakes. If your doctor rules out any medical conditions, keeping active with light walks after meals really helps stabilize glucose levels.

It can definitely happen, especially if your hormones are slightly out of balance. I face similar sudden energy dips due to my thyroid fluctuations. It is best to get a complete blood panel done, including fasting insulin and thyroid levels, and discuss the reports with your doctor.

As someone managing type 2 diabetes, I know sugar crashes too well, but non-diabetic people can get them too from skipping meals or extreme dieting. Be careful about eating high-glycemic foods on an empty stomach. Make sure to consult a physician instead of self-managing these dizzy spells.

Yes, if you keep your stomach empty for too long, the body gets weak. When you feel shaky or sweating suddenly, taking a spoonful of honey or some mishri water can help instantly. But please get your physical checkup done soon to find the root cause.

I had these weird shivering fits last year and thought it was diabetes, but my tests came back normal. I went to a proper hospital and the specialist explained that my body was overproducing insulin. Go to a good physician and ask for a detailed glucose tolerance test to be sure.
