Can you use aquaphor on eczema?

My son has really bad eczema patches on his body, and they get very dry and itchy. Someone told me Aquaphor is good for it. Can you use Aquaphor on eczema, and is it effective for keeping the skin moisturized?

Dry skin and eczema can flare up when body heat or stress is high. Along with trying thick ointments like Aquaphor, make sure you are drinking enough water and keeping your lifestyle stress-free. It is always good to consult a dermatologist once.

I can only share that Aquaphor worked wonders for my dry eczema patches on my hands during winters. It created a thick barrier that kept the moisture in, though I had to apply it repeatedly. Everyone's skin is different, but it worked for me.

My dry skin got so much worse because of my thyroid imbalance, and no cream would work until I got my hormone levels in check. While Aquaphor is good for surface moisture, please get a routine health checkup to rule out any internal imbalances causing the dry skin.

Oh, I totally feel you, eczema itching is the absolute worst! I use Aquaphor on my dry patches too and it really helps soothe the raw skin. Just make sure to use a very thin layer as it can be quite sticky under our humid weather.

Aquaphor is generally safe, but please do a patch test first or get it checked by a skin specialist. If your eczema is infected or weeping, heavy ointments can sometimes trap bacteria and make the skin condition worse.

Yes, absolutely. Aquaphor is actually great for dry eczema because of its petroleum base, which seals in moisture better than regular lotions. Just apply it right after your shower on damp skin for the best results.

Aquaphor is good for local skin hydration, but remember that sweating during your regular workouts or runs can irritate active eczema. Keep the skin clean, apply a light layer of barrier cream, and don't let skin issues stop you from staying active.
