Can you use a tens unit for erectile dysfunction?

I've heard about TENS units being used for various pains. My friend mentioned it might help with erectile dysfunction. Can you actually use a TENS unit for erectile dysfunction, and is it effective?

There is no strong medical evidence supporting the use of home TENS units for erectile dysfunction. Using electrical currents in sensitive areas can cause serious nerve damage or burns. It is highly advisable to consult a urologist for proven and safe treatment options.

Instead of wasting money on buying expensive TENS machines that might not even work, it is much better to invest that budget in proper diagnostic tests. A basic lipid profile, sugar test, and doctor's consultation will help find the real root cause much cheaper.

Please do not attempt this under any circumstances. Using a TENS unit on the groin area can be extremely dangerous due to the sensitive nerve pathways. You must get checked by a qualified doctor safely.

Oh my, please don't try this at home! I get so worried thinking about the risks of using electric shock devices on such delicate parts of the body. What if it causes permanent nerve damage? Please speak to a proper specialist instead.

I don't know the medical side of this, but a close friend of mine tried using a cheap muscle stimulator for this and ended up in the emergency room with severe pain. Based on his experience, I would strongly advise staying away from such devices.

I faced this a couple of years back and tried reading up on all sorts of alternative gadgets. Honestly, none of these quick fixes work. What actually helped me was consulting a urologist, improving my daily diet, and reducing my stress levels.

I totally get it, dealing with this can be incredibly frustrating and stressful to talk about. But please be gentle with yourself and avoid experimenting with these machines. Seeking professional help is the best way forward here.
