Can you take time off work for mental health?

I've been feeling very stressed and burnt out from work recently, and it's affecting my mental health. I'm wondering if I can take time off work for mental health reasons in India. What are the rules for this, actually?

I am feeling so burnt out lately but I'm scared to ask my manager for mental health leave. Do Indian corporate offices actually accept this, or will they judge me?

Listen, your health comes before any company or job. If you are feeling overwhelmed, take a few sick leaves or casual leaves and just disconnect. You don't have to explain every detail to them if you aren't comfortable.

Mental stress directly spikes blood sugar levels, I see it on my monitor all the time. Taking a break to calm your mind is very necessary for your physical health too. Take the time off and rest.

Absolutely, take that break if you need it. Use that time off to go for long walks in nature, eat clean, and get some fresh air. It really helps clear the mental fog.

Dekho, if you don't take a break now, your body will force you to take a break later. Just apply for standard sick leave, get some rest, and don't feel guilty about it.

I took a two-week medical leave for mental health last year. I got a simple certificate from my psychiatrist, submitted it to HR, and they processed it without any issues. Your peace of mind is worth it.
