Can you take stroke and distance on the putting green?

I play golf a lot, and my friends always argue about the rules. For example, can you take stroke and distance on the putting green if your ball goes out of bounds? Need to settle this once and for all.

Yes, under the official rules of golf, stroke and distance is always an option from anywhere on the course, including the putting green.

I am not very sure about golf rules, as I mostly spend my time managing my thyroid health and running for regular blood tests. Hope you get a clear answer from a sports expert soon.

My cousin who plays amateur tournaments tells me that you can indeed take stroke and distance relief, though it is quite rare on the green. For serious game rules, it's always best to check the latest USGA handbook.

I recently started learning golf and this sounds a bit complicated. Can someone please explain in what situation you would actually need to do this on the putting green?

Haan, rule wise toh option hota hai but putting green pe general log yeh use nahi karte na. Usually standard rules follow karo toh accurate rahega.
