Can you take steroids with kidney disease?

My father has chronic kidney disease, and sometimes he gets inflammatory conditions that cause a lot of pain. His doctor sometimes suggests steroids. Can someone with kidney disease safely take steroids, or is it risky?

Please be very careful with this. It is always best to let your nephrologist decide the exact dose for your condition. Sending you strength, hope you feel better soon.

For kidneys, we must not experiment with random things or heavy tablets on our own. I always look for natural ways to ease swelling, like reducing salt, but steroids are very strong medicines. You should strictly follow what your specialist prescribes and don't skip your routine blood tests.

My son had a kidney issue last year and his pediatrician had to put him on steroids for a short duration. It was tough but we kept a strict eye on his diet and fluid intake as advised. Please don't worry, just stay in close touch with your child's doctor.

Even I was wondering about this because my uncle has kidney issues and was suggested some steroids for another issue. It sounds so scary to balance both things. Has anyone else here managed this safely without hurting their kidney levels?

My father has chronic kidney disease and his doctor actually prescribed a low-dose steroid for his autoimmune issue last year. We were very tense, but the doctor monitored his creatinine weekly. It worked out fine for him, but we didn't do anything without the doc's green light.

Steroids with kidney issues is very risky business yaar. Actually, you should never self-medicate here. Just talk to your nephrologist directly instead of taking stress on the internet.
