Can you take ozempic with thyroid problems?

Having hypothyroidism for a long time and taking daily medicine for it, my doctor now suggested Ozempic for my diabetes and weight management. I'm a bit concerned about how it might interact with my thyroid condition. Is it safe to take Ozempic if you have thyroid problems?

It is completely understandable to have concerns about this. Please consult your endocrinologist to see if it is safe for your specific thyroid condition. Take care of yourself.

I have managed thyroid issues for many years now. Doctors are very careful with Ozempic if there is a history of certain thyroid tumors, so please do not take it lightly. A proper consultation will give you the right direction.

I agree with the caution here, as thyroid history can sometimes be a contraindication for Ozempic. Please check with your specialist.

Managing thyroid with a healthy, fiber-rich vegetarian diet is very helpful. If you are considering Ozempic, make sure your doctor evaluates your thyroid health first, as some specific conditions can make this medication unsafe.

Since these medications are expensive and require regular thyroid profile tests to monitor safety, it's wise to plan your medical budget. Get a clear opinion from a government hospital doctor first to understand the long-term costs.
