Can you take naltrexone with elevated liver enzymes?

Prescribed Naltrexone for a condition, my recent blood tests showed slightly elevated liver enzymes. My doctor is aware, but I'm still feeling a bit concerned. Is it generally safe to take Naltrexone when you have elevated liver enzymes?

Please do not ignore elevated liver enzymes. I once ignored slightly high liver readings and ended up with severe jaundice and a long hospital stay. You must get a proper LFT done and show it to a specialist immediately before starting this.

Naltrexone can sometimes cause liver issues, especially at higher doses, so elevated enzymes are definitely a red flag. Your doctor will likely want to find the root cause of the high enzymes before prescribing this. Stay safe and get a proper medical opinion.

Hey, elevated liver enzymes can be serious, bro. My uncle had some liver issues and the doctor was very strict about what medicines he could take. Don't take any risks, get it checked by a proper doctor first.

Naltrexone is processed through the liver, so having elevated enzymes is a significant clinical factor. Your doctor will need to evaluate the benefits against potential liver stress. It is absolutely essential to seek professional medical guidance here.

When I go to Apollo for my checkups, the doctors always emphasize that any medication affecting liver function needs careful monitoring. Ask your hepatologist or physician directly; they might want to monitor your LFT weekly if you start it.
