Can you take ibuprofen for a migraine?

A really bad migraine attack has hit me right now, lights and sounds are making it worse. I usually take some other medicine, but I only have Ibuprofen at home. Is it effective for migraines, or should I try to get something else?

Beta, I have had migraines for forty years. Ibuprofen works fine for mild headaches, but for a real migraine, it often isn't enough. Don't keep popping them; see a doctor to get proper migraine medicine.

It can give temporary relief, but it does not cure the root cause. I found that combining deep breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom with a balanced diet helped me reduce my reliance on ibuprofen completely.

Yes, it works, but please always eat something before taking ibuprofen to avoid severe stomach burning.

I take ibuprofen whenever my migraine starts, but I always worry if it will damage my stomach. Does anyone else get bad acidity after taking it for headaches?

Please be careful with ibuprofen. I took it regularly for my headaches and ended up with a severe stomach ulcer that took months to heal. Always consult a doctor if your migraines are frequent.

Yes, you can take ibuprofen 400mg for a migraine, it helps reduce the inflammation. Just make sure you take it with some food to protect your stomach, and don't use it more than twice a week.

You can take it occasionally, but do not make it a habit. Applying a paste of ginger on your forehead or drinking warm water with lemon can also bring gentle relief without heating your body with pills.

Ibuprofen is very cheap and readily available, which is good. But if you have frequent migraines, it is cheaper in the long run to see a neurologist once rather than buying endless painkillers and risking stomach ulcers.

I used to panic thinking my migraines were something dangerous because ibuprofen wasn't helping. But once my doctor prescribed specific migraine triptans, it became totally manageable. It is very normal, just get the right medicine.

Ibuprofen is a standard choice for migraines, but many people take too much of it. If you need it more than twice a week, please see a doctor to get a preventive treatment plan.

Haan na, migraine pain is so terrible. Ibuprofen works well sometimes, but taking it too often can cause rebound headaches, ho na. Better to consult a doctor.

Between my baby crying and these migraines, my head is always spinning. Ibuprofen is my best friend some days, but honestly, it only works if I actually manage to get a quick nap with it.

Ibuprofen can help with the immediate pain, but if your doctor permits, try incorporating light neck stretches and regular cardio. It really helps reduce the frequency of these migraine attacks naturally.

Yes, you can take it, but don't expect it to perform miracles if your boss is still emailing you at midnight! Just take one, lie down, and ignore your phone.

Look, ibuprofen will dull the pain for a few hours, but it won't fix your lifestyle. If you are sleeping late and skipping meals, no amount of tablets will cure your migraine.
