Can you take glp1 with thyroid issues?

Dealing with hypothyroidism for a few years, my doctor recently prescribed a GLP-1 medication for my diabetes. Someone told me it might not be good to mix them. Just wanted to check if it's safe for people with thyroid problems.

Don't stress, thyroid issues are very common, but you need to be cautious with GLP-1. There is a specific warning if you have a family history of medullary thyroid cancer. Just get a proper consultation with your endocrinologist first.

Please be very careful and see a specialist. I started GLP-1 for weight loss with hypothyroidism, and my TSH levels went completely out of whack within a month. Regular blood tests are a must if you take both.

I totally get it, trying to manage weight when your thyroid is acting up is incredibly frustrating. GLP-1 can help, but because of some thyroid tumor warnings, you really need a doctor's clearance first.

With my slow thyroid and slow metabolism, I feel like a turtle! Yes, you can take GLP-1, but only if your doctor clears your thyroid history. Otherwise, you'll be fighting two battles at once.

My mom was asking about this because her thyroid meds make it hard to lose weight. Her doctor said GLP-1 is fine for standard hypothyroid, but they ran a few blood tests first just to be super safe.
