Can you take gabapentin for tooth pain?

My tooth pain is unbearable, and I can't get to a dentist for another two days. My husband has some Gabapentin for nerve pain. Can you take Gabapentin for tooth pain, even though it's not specifically for that?

Hey there! Gabapentin is usually not the first choice for tooth issues unless it's a specific nerve problem. Better to stick to standard painkillers that your dentist prescribes. Hope you feel better soon! 😊

Tooth pain is very difficult to bear. Gabapentin is usually for nerve pain and might not work well for a regular toothache. Please try to see a dentist near you as soon as possible.

Oh god, tooth pain is the worst, but taking Gabapentin without a prescription scares me. It is a very strong drug meant for neurological issues, and the side effects can be quite intense. Please consult a proper dentist before taking such heavy neuro meds.

Don't waste money on expensive nerve medications like Gabapentin which might not even work for this. A basic dental X-ray at a local clinic costs around 200-300 rupees and will pinpoint the exact issue. Better to plan a quick dentist visit than self-medicate blindly.

I had a massive wisdom tooth ache last month and thought about taking whatever was in the cabinet. But my dentist friend told me Gabapentin won't help with dental inflammation. Simple ibuprofen or a dentist-prescribed painkiller works much better, trust me.
