Can you take flexaril longterm to help sleep at night?

I suffer from chronic muscle spasms and the doctor prescribed Flexaril, which helps me sleep. I've been taking it for a while now. Can you take Flexaril long-term to help sleep at night, or is it only for short periods?

I completely understand how exhausting it is when you can't sleep, the anxiety just builds up every night. But please be careful, Flexeril is a muscle relaxant and not meant for long-term sleep issues. Using it daily might make you dependent and increase your anxiety when you try to stop.

Totally agree with everyone here. Please don't take it long term; try keeping your bedroom completely dark and cool for better sleep instead.

I was actually reading up on this yesterday because my uncle was prescribed Flexeril for his back pain. From what I found, it's usually only recommended for 2 to 3 weeks maximum. Long-term use seems to have some nasty side effects like dry mouth and constant drowsiness.

I also panicked when my doctor first gave me Flexeril and I found myself wanting to take it every night just to sleep. But don't worry, once you stop and set a proper routine, your body adjusts. It's totally normal to struggle initially, but long-term use is definitely not the way to go.

Instead of spending money on continuous Flexeril prescriptions and dealing with potential side effects, it is better to invest in a one-time consult with a sleep specialist. Even basic blood tests for vitamins like D3 and B12 are quite affordable nowadays and might show you the actual reason for your bad sleep.

Haan na, sleep issues are so frustrating. But Flexeril is actually for muscle spasms, not a sleeping pill. Taking it long-term can make you feel super groggy throughout the next day, ho na. Better to ask your doc for a proper solution.

Dekho boss, long-term use of muscle relaxants for sleep is a very bad idea. It's meant for short-term muscle relief, not to be popped like candy every night. Go see a proper doctor and fix your sleep cycle naturally.
