Can you take excedrin migraine while nursing?

My head is throbbing so badly, and I'm currently nursing my baby. I used to rely on Excedrin Migraine for quick relief. Can you take Excedrin Migraine while nursing, or will it pass into breast milk?

I just went through this last month when my migraine was killing me while nursing. My doctor strictly told me to avoid Excedrin because the aspirin in it can pass into breast milk and is risky for the baby. She prescribed a simple, safe painkiller instead.

My mother always suggested using a simple balm or cold compress for headaches while nursing to avoid passing medicines to the baby. For severe migraines, Excedrin isn't ideal due to its aspirin content. Please consult your pediatrician to find a safe solution.

You can try resting in a dark room and drinking warm ginger tea to soothe the migraine naturally. But if the headache is unbearable, please see your doctor instead of taking Excedrin. Some ingredients in it are not recommended while nursing.

Nursing a baby is exhausting enough without a splitting migraine to deal with! But don't just pop an Excedrin, as the aspirin in it is a big no-no for the little one. Save yourself the worry and ask your doctor for a baby-safe pill.

A big hug to you, nursing with a migraine is no joke! 🤗 But please skip the Excedrin as it's not the safest for the baby. Call your doctor's clinic and they'll help you out quickly! 💕

Agreed, avoiding Excedrin is best because of the aspirin. Please ask your doctor for a safe alternative like paracetamol.
