Can you take ashwagandha with thyroid meds?

My friend told me ashwagandha is good for stress, but I'm already taking my thyroid medication daily. Should I avoid it, or can I take both together without any problems? Don't want to mess up my hormones further.

I wouldn't mix them blindly. Ashwagandha can boost thyroid hormones, which might mess up your regular thyroid pill dose. Better to ask your doc first.

Ashwagandha may stimulate thyroid hormone production, which can interfere with your thyroid medication. It is highly recommended to consult your endocrinologist to avoid any dosage imbalance.

Don't self-prescribe Ashwagandha if you're already on thyroid meds. It can alter your TSH levels, requiring you to get more blood tests done. Just ask your doctor during your next visit.

I have had thyroid issues for 20 years. While Ashwagandha is good for stress, it changed my thyroid levels when I took it with my daily pills. Always monitor your blood reports closely if you start any herb.
