Can you survive stage four lung cancer?

A very close family member has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, and we are all trying to cope. The doctors have explained it, but I just need to know from a broader perspective: is it possible to survive lung cancer at this advanced stage?

While you undergo the main hospital treatments, practicing gentle pranayama can help significantly. Simple deep breathing and Anulom Vilom under guidance can improve lung capacity and ease the breathlessness. It brings great peace to the anxious mind during such heavy treatment.

We just found out about my mother's stage 4 lung cancer and I can't sleep at all. Is anyone else going through this constant panic? Do the targeted therapy pills actually work for a long time without severe side effects?

Nutrition and physical activity are key, even during advanced cancer. Keep their protein intake high with paneer, eggs, or sattu to prevent muscle wasting during chemo. If the doctor allows, a simple 10-minute slow walk daily helps a lot with fatigue.

Between managing my night shifts and researching lung cancer treatments online for my uncle, I have forgotten what sleep looks like. But honestly, the oncology docs are super smart these days. Don't let Google search results scare you to death at 3 AM.

Hey, take a deep breath. Stage four is scary, but it is not a sudden deadline anymore because medical science has evolved incredibly. Focus on protecting their peace of mind, filter out negative relatives, and let the doctors do their job.

I totally get it, seeing your loved one go through this is heartbreaking. The uncertainty is the hardest part. Just show them lots of love, keep them comfortable, and celebrate the small daily victories.

I have lived long enough to see cancer go from a sure death sentence to a manageable chronic illness. I know people who have survived stage four lung cancer for five plus years with good lifestyle habits and modern medicines. Trust your doctors and keep your spirits high.

My dad went through this last year. Direct advice: get the EGFR/ALK mutation tests done immediately before starting any chemo. If the mutation is positive, they just give you a simple daily tablet which is way easier than chemotherapy and works really well.

Yaar, don't lose hope so easily. Actually, my neighbor's dad had the exact same diagnosis and with daily targeted therapy tablets, he is still walking around and enjoying his tea. The treatment is very advanced now, so chill and stay positive.

When my mother-in-law got diagnosed, I panicked and cried for a whole week thinking it was the end. But once we met a good oncologist and started the right immunotherapy, things stabilized beautifully. It is very much manageable now, so please don't lose your mind like I did.
