Can you still get hepatitis b after vaccination?

I received my Hepatitis B vaccination series when I was a child. Recently, I heard about someone getting Hep B even after vaccination, which worried me. Can you still get hepatitis B after vaccination, or am I fully protected?

I had my full vaccine course but I am still terrified of getting infected. Did anyone else get their antibody levels checked afterwards to be completely sure?

Yes, it is rare but possible if your body didn't produce enough antibodies. You can check your immunity with a simple Hep B surface antibody blood test.

I totally get it, worrying about infections even after being vaccinated is so stressful. But the vaccine is highly effective, so try not to worry too much and consult a doctor if you want to test your antibody levels.

While the vaccine gives great protection, a small percentage of people are 'non-responders' whose bodies don't build immunity. If you work in a hospital or have high exposure, getting an antibody titer test is a smart step.

I keep all my vaccination dates logged on my health app. The vaccine is about 95% effective, which is amazing, but you can always get a quick blood test done to check your actual antibody counts.

Yes, if you don't complete the full 3-dose schedule or if your body doesn't respond to the vaccine, you can still catch it. I always recommend checking your anti-HBs levels at a local lab to verify immunity.

I had to get my antibody levels checked for college admission after my childhood vaccine. My report showed good immunity, so that gave me peace of mind.
