Can you spread a fever blister?

I have a fever blister on my lip that just appeared. My younger brother accidentally used my water bottle this morning. Can you spread a fever blister through sharing drinks, or is it only through direct contact?

I completely understand how stressful this is, I used to panic constantly thinking I'd spread it to my eyes or family. Yes, they are highly contagious, so try not to touch them and wash your hands immediately if you do.

I was researching this and learned that the fluid inside fever blisters contains the active virus, so sharing cups, spoons, or lip balm can easily spread it to others. It is best to keep your personal items completely separate.

I am so paranoid about spreading my cold sore to other parts of my face. Does anyone else wash their hands like ten times a day when they have one? It's honestly exhausting to constantly worry about this.

My grandmother always said to apply a little honey, but the doctor advised me that cold sores are viral and highly contagious. Avoid kissing or sharing towels until the blister completely heals and dry crusts form.

Just avoid touching the blister and don't share your drinking glasses or towels with anyone in the house. This simple caution is enough to stop the virus from spreading to your family members.

Yes, fever blisters are highly infectious until they scab over and heal. Avoid picking at them, use a cotton swab to apply any ointments, and keep your hands clean to prevent spreading it.

Yes, you can easily spread it to other parts of your own body or to other people through direct contact. I try to be very careful with hand hygiene, and you should probably consult a doctor for a proper antiviral cream.
