Can you sleep with eye patches on?

I use under-eye patches sometimes to help with dark circles and puffiness. I was wondering if it's beneficial or harmful to sleep with these eye patches on overnight, or if they should only be used for a short duration?

If you are talking about beauty patches for dark circles, do not keep them on all night as they will dry out your skin. Instead, slice some fresh cucumber or put cooled tea bags on your eyes for fifteen minutes before sleeping. It is much more natural and safer.

I fell asleep once with those hydrating under-eye patches, and I woke up with red, swollen eyes because the serum dried out and irritated my skin. If you develop any persistent burning or vision blurriness, go see an eye specialist immediately.

My grandmother always said never to block the eyes while sleeping as they need to breathe. If you are using a medical patch after a small procedure or checkup, please follow your doctor's instructions exactly. Don't go by what others say online.

No, do not sleep with cosmetic eye patches on as they can cause irritation. Only medical patches prescribed by your doctor should be worn overnight.

Haan na, those skincare patches dry up completely if you sleep with them on. Skin full stretch ho jata hai and it feels so uncomfortable. Better to just use a good under-eye cream before going to bed.

Cosmetic gel patches are meant to be used for 15-20 minutes only; leaving them on overnight can actually reverse the hydration. If you are wearing a patch for a medical condition like lazy eye or post-surgery, only your ophthalmologist can guide you on the overnight duration.

I asked my dermatologist about those overnight patch trends, and she clearly said it is a bad idea because adhesive chemicals can irritate the thin skin around the eyes. For medical eye patches, they are designed to be worn long-term, but even then, you must consult your eye doctor first.
