Can you sleep with contact lenses?

Sometimes I accidentally fall asleep with my contact lenses in, or I'm just too tired to take them out. Is it really bad for my eyes to sleep with regular contact lenses on, or is it okay if it's just once in a while?

Nahi bhaiya, never sleep with lenses in your eyes. They will dry up and stick to your eyes, and it can cause a lot of redness and pain in the morning. Take them out every night, wash them with clean water solution, and give your eyes rest.

It is very dangerous to sleep with lenses because your eyes need oxygen. If you ever forget and wake up with a red, painful, or watery eye, don't try home remedies like rose water—go straight to an eye doctor as it can be a serious infection.

Just like keeping our diet clean is essential, hygiene for eyes is very important. Sleeping with contact lenses traps bacteria and starves the cornea of oxygen. Make it a strict habit to remove them before dinner so you never accidentally fall asleep with them on.

Never sleep with them in, man. Even after a late-night workout when you are exhausted, take those two minutes to remove your lenses. If you sleep with them, you risk severe corneal ulcers which can totally mess up your training schedule.

I once accidentally slept with my contacts on for just two hours and woke up with extremely blurry vision and panic. Did anyone else feel like the lens had rolled behind their eye? It was so scary, I haven't worn them to bed since.
