Can you sleep with a menstrual cup?

I've started using a menstrual cup recently, and it's been great for daytime. I'm wondering if it's completely safe and hygienic to sleep with it in overnight, especially if I have a heavy flow and sleep for 7-8 hours?

Yes, absolutely! Sleeping with a cup is a total lifesaver, especially when you just want to curl up with a big bowl of hot maggi and some chocolate to fight those period cravings without worrying about any messy bedsheet leaks.

Beta, many young girls in our family now use these cups and say they are safe for the night. Just make sure you clean it nicely in boiling water before and after use. For cramps, a warm heating bottle on your stomach and some ginger tea before sleeping works wonders.

Yes, you can easily sleep with a menstrual cup for up to 8 to 12 hours depending on your flow. Just empty it right before you go to bed and wash it immediately after waking up. It is far more comfortable and leak-proof than pads once you get the hang of it.

Honestly, sleeping with a cup is so much better when you need that deep, uninterrupted recovery sleep after a heavy workout. It doesn't shift around like pads do. Just keep your hydration levels up during your period to help with overall cramps.

You can definitely sleep with a cup on. I switched to it because my heavy periods due to thyroid issues made sleeping very difficult. Since thyroid levels can fluctuate and affect your cycle, make sure you get regular blood tests and consult your gynaecologist if your flow changes suddenly.

Yes, it is perfectly fine to wear it overnight. Since I manage my diabetes carefully, I always pay extra attention to hygiene to avoid any infections, as high blood sugar can make healing slower. Just wash your hands thoroughly before inserting or removing the cup.

My gynaecologist at Aster Medcity confirmed that sleeping with a medical-grade silicone cup is completely safe for up to 12 hours. However, if you feel any discomfort or pain, don't ignore it. Ask your own doctor clearly to make sure you are using the right size.
