Can you sleep overnight in an airport?

I have a super long layover on my next flight and was thinking of just sleeping at the airport to save money. Is it generally considered safe and healthy to sleep overnight in an airport, or could it affect my well-being significantly?

Yes, you can sleep overnight in most major airports, but your sleep quality will take a big hit. My smartwatch always shows a massive drop in deep sleep and high stress levels when I do this. If you must, wear an eye mask and use noise-canceling headphones to help your body rest.

Yes, it is possible to sleep there during long transits. To avoid catching a cold from the heavy airport air conditioning, carry a warm woolen shawl to cover your chest and drink some warm water or herbal tea before resting.

You can, but sleeping on those hard metal chairs will leave your back and neck completely stiff. If you have a long layover, try to stretch your legs with a good walk around the terminal and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated before you crash.

Haan bilkul, sleep maps are actually available for many airports! Par comfort toh bhool hi jao, cold AC and announcements will keep waking you up. Better to keep a light jacket and eye mask ready, na?

I totally get it, flight delays and long layovers are absolutely exhausting and you just want to shut your eyes. Most international airports are safe to sleep in, just find a quiet gate and keep your backpack secured under your legs so you can rest peacefully.

I had to sleep at Delhi airport once during a late-night transit and it was actually fine! I found a quiet corner near the departure gates and used my backpack as a pillow. Just make sure to set an alarm so you don't miss your flight!

Yes, you can, but honestly, it is highly uncomfortable. If your budget allows, just pay for a lounge access or a transit hotel room. It is absolutely worth it for a proper shower and a flat bed instead of freezing on airport metal benches.
