Can you sleep on the freeway?

Sometimes when I'm driving long distances for work, I get really tired. Is it actually possible or safe to just pull over and catch a few minutes of sleep somewhere like a highway rest stop, or is that completely unhealthy for my body and mind?

Honestly, sleeping on the freeway is extremely dangerous and actually illegal. If you are feeling too sleepy while driving, please pull over at a proper toll plaza or a dhaba. It is always better to take a 20-minute break in a safe parking spot rather than risking your life on the roadside.

Never attempt this, it is not safe at all. When my blood sugar levels drop during long drives, I sometimes get extremely drowsy, but I always find a proper food mall or petrol pump to park and rest. Please keep some healthy snacks with you and stop only at designated rest areas.

Yaar, please don't even think about sleeping on the freeway! It is way too risky with all the heavy trucks speeding by. Don't stress about reaching late, just find a nice highway dhaba, grab a hot cup of chai, and sleep safely in your locked car there.

Bro, sleeping on the active lanes or even the shoulder of a highway is a massive risk. If fatigue is hitting you hard, it usually means your body needs proper rest and hydration. Just pull into a proper fuel station, stretch your legs, and have some water before you try to nap.

I had a terrible experience where my husband fell asleep at the wheel and we barely survived a major highway accident. If you are experiencing sudden, uncontrollable sleepiness while driving, please don't ignore it. It is best to consult a doctor to check for sleep apnea or other underlying issues.

Oh no, definitely a big no! 🚗 Sleeping on the freeway is super unsafe. Please find a proper food plaza or service lane to park your car safely and take a quick nap there. Stay safe on the road! 😊

Don't listen to any online hacks about quick power naps on highway shoulders. It is a safety hazard and the police can fine you heavily too. If you are constantly feeling fatigued during normal daytime driving, verify the cause with a real physician instead of pushing your limits.
