Can you sleep on a mattress while its expanding?

We just got a new memory foam mattress delivered, and it says to let it expand for a few hours before using it. My wife and I are so excited to try it, but we're also really tired tonight. Is it okay to sleep on a new mattress while it's still in the process of expanding, or should we definitely wait?

I bought a memory foam mattress last year. While you technically can lay on it, it's best to wait at least 24 hours. Sleeping on it early blocks the air from filling the foam properly, and you might get permanent lumps.

Please be careful about the strong chemical smell (off-gassing) when a new mattress expands. I slept on mine the first night and woke up with severe breathing issues and a bad rash. If you experience any allergic reaction, see a doctor immediately.

Actually, it's super tempting to jump on it immediately, yaar. But don't do it. If you sleep on it while it's still expanding, it won't reach its full height and comfort level. Just sleep on the floor for one night.

It is so satisfying to watch them expand! 😍 But honestly, try to give it a day to puff up fully so you get that perfect, cloud-like comfort. Sleeping on it too early might ruin the shape!

My orthopedic doctor always says that sleeping on an uneven, partially expanded mattress can trigger severe back and neck alignment issues. It is highly recommended to let the foam cure fully for 48 hours before using it.

Just lay the new mattress in a spare room with the ceiling fan on full speed. This helps it expand faster and gets rid of the plastic smell. Sleep on your old mattress or a simple gaddi for the night.

It's like baking a cake—if you open the oven too early, it sinks in the middle! Let the mattress rise fully so you get the absolute best sleep comfort later. Treat yourself to a good dinner while you wait.

Ek raat ki toh baat hai, sabar rakho. If the manufacturer says wait for 24 to 48 hours, then just wait. Why ruin an expensive mattress by sleeping on it before it is fully ready?

Naya gadda laya hai toh thoda dhiraj rakho bhaiya. Use poora phoolne do ek-do din, tabhi uski asli softness aayegi. Jaldi so jaoge toh gadda beech se dab jayega.

Haan, log so toh jaate hain, but mattress kharab hone ka risk rehta hai na. The foam needs space to breathe and expand properly. Ek din manage kar lo kahin aur, long-term ke liye achha rahega.

I totally get it, when you get a new bed you just want to sink into it immediately. But please try to wait a little. Sleeping on it early might prevent the edges from expanding properly, which spoils the support.

Honestly, I am so sleep-deprived I could sleep on a rock. But even I waited 24 hours for my mattress to inflate. You don't want to spend 20k just to end up sleeping on a lumpy piece of foam.
