Can you sleep in rest areas?

We're planning a family road trip, and we'll be driving through the night for a portion of it. My husband suggested we could take short naps at highway rest areas. Is it safe for a family to sleep in our car at these rest areas, especially late at night?

I have driven on long highway trips for forty years now. It is quite common to take a quick nap in your car at busy rest stops when you are tired. Just lock your doors and keep your windows slightly cracked for ventilation.

Yes, you can rest there, but safety should always be your top priority. Pick a spot that is well-lit and close to the main food court or fuel station where people are around. Avoid dark, isolated corners of the parking lot.

I travelled with my family last month and we had to stop at a highway plaza to sleep for two hours. It is totally fine as long as you are inside a locked vehicle. It is much safer than driving while feeling extremely drowsy.

Haan na, driving ke beech me neend aaye toh safe jagah rukhna hi achha hai. But inside the car only, don't sleep outside on benches or anything. Safely lock karke quick power nap le lo, badme fresh feel hoga.

Haan, bilkul so sakte hain, highway pe fatigue avoid karne ke liye rest areas best hote hain. But safety ka dhyan rakhna na. Gate pass ke pass ya dhaba ke paas gaadi park karna jahan thodi chahal-pahal ho.

Listen to your body's signals and take rest when it asks for it. Stay calm, park safely under a bright light, say a small prayer for a safe journey, and take a peaceful nap. God bless your travel.

I totally get it, long drives can be incredibly exhausting and your safety is what matters most. Don't push yourself to drive if your eyes are closing. Taking a short break in a busy plaza is a very smart decision.

Before you take a nap, I suggest doing a 5-minute light walk around the parking lot to stretch your legs and get some fresh air. Getting your blood circulation going after sitting for hours is very important, even if you are going to sleep.
