Can you sleep at truck stops?

My friend, who is a truck driver, often sleeps at truck stops during his long hauls. I'm planning to join him on a route soon and might need to rest there as well. Is it generally okay and safe for non-commercial vehicles or passengers to sleep overnight at truck stops?

Yes bhaiya, you can park your vehicle near a big dhaba or truck stop and sleep nicely. There are always people around and the dhabas are open all night, so it is quite safe. Just lock your doors properly from inside before you doze off.

It is completely fine to take a nap at a truck stop when you are too tired to drive. Your safety is most important, so please rest well before hitting the road again.

If you are using a GPS or highway app, check the ratings of the fuel plazas and truck stops ahead of time. Some premium stops have great amenities, clean washrooms, and safe parking zones. Getting proper rest is essential to keep your heart rate and focus stable during long trips.

While it is physically possible to sleep at truck stops, please prioritize your safety and security. If you are feeling unwell or extremely dizzy during the drive, do not try to just sleep it off in a car. It is always safer to find a proper hotel or visit a nearby clinic to get checked.

I have spent many nights sleeping at highway truck stops during long drives. Always park near the brightly lit areas where families or luxury buses are parked, not in the dark corners. Keep your phone fully charged and don't leave any valuables visible on the dashboard.
