Can you see pcos on an ultrasound?

I've been struggling with irregular periods and facial hair growth for a while, and my friend suggested it might be PCOS. I have an appointment for an ultrasound next week. Will the ultrasound clearly show if I have PCOS, or are there other tests needed?

Yes, the ultrasound shows a 'string of pearls' look because of multiple small cysts. Getting the scan done at any local lab is cheap and helps your doctor plan your diet and lifestyle changes.

My aunts recommended drinking spearmint tea for my irregular periods, but my gynecologist advised a pelvic scan. The ultrasound clearly showed my polycystic ovaries, which helped me get the right medical guidance.

I know how stressful it is to wait for scan results. Yes, the ultrasound shows PCOS very clearly, and getting that confirmation actually made me feel more in control of my health.

Honestly, after staying awake till 3 AM worrying about my weight, the pelvic ultrasound finally confirmed my PCOS. At least now I know why my body is acting so crazy!

Seeing those small follicles on the screen was emotionally hard for me, but it was the first step to healing. You are not alone in this journey, stay strong.

An ultrasound will confirm the cysts, yes. While I manage mine with regular yoga and clean eating, please consult your doctor first to get a proper diagnosis.
