Can you see kidney stones in urine?

I've been having some lower back pain, and sometimes my urine looks a bit cloudy, which is unusual for me. I'm worried about kidney stones, as I've heard they can be quite painful. Can small kidney stones actually be visible in your urine when you pass them?

Don't worry too much. Yes, small stones can look like tiny flecks of gravel or sand in your urine when they pass. Just keep yourself heavily hydrated and if the pain gets too sharp, let me know or see a doctor.

Yes, you can see small crystals or tiny stones. Since I have to do regular blood tests for my thyroid, I always recommend getting a routine urine test and ultrasound done to confirm what's happening.

They look like tiny yellowish or brown grains. I used to drink a lot of pumpkin seed juice and coconut water daily, which really helped me pass a 3mm stone naturally.

You can see them if they are small enough to pass, usually looking like little rock pieces. Try straining your urine through a clean cloth if you want to catch it and show it to your doctor.

I totally get it, waiting to see if a stone passes can be so stressful. Yes, they look like small brown or grey crystals in the urine. Please be gentle with yourself and drink plenty of warm fluids.
