Can you see a fatty liver on a ct scan?

I recently had a CT scan for an unrelated issue, and the report mentioned some findings about my liver. I'm waiting to meet my doctor, but I'm curious. Can a fatty liver actually be detected or seen on a CT scan?

Oh yes, a CT scan can spot a fatty liver easily! It basically shows up because the fat makes the liver look darker than it should. It is like the scan is telling on all the extra cheese we have been eating lately.

I totally get it, waiting for scan results can be so nerve-wracking. Yes, a CT scan is quite detailed and can show fat accumulation in the liver. Try not to worry too much and let the doctor explain the report to you.

When I got my scan done at Fortis, the radiologist clearly marked the fatty liver changes on the CT report. It is best to take the scan films to your doctor so they can tell you the exact grade and how to manage it.

I literally spend hours googling scan terms when I get tests done! Yes, CT scans do show fatty liver because the density changes. Please don't panic reading the report, usually, it is very common and can be managed with diet.

My doctor ordered a scan and it showed mild fatty liver, which often goes hand in hand with high blood sugar. It can definitely be seen on a CT scan. If you have it, cutting down on sweets and fried food helps a lot.

Yes, it shows up on CT scans quite clearly. Because of my thyroid, my metabolism is slow and I have to get regular abdominal checkups. Just make sure to follow up with your physician for the right guidance.

Yes dear, a CT scan is very effective at detecting fat in the liver. If the report says so, don't worry too much. It is usually a wake-up call to reduce oil in our cooking and start some daily walks.
