Can you receive disability for rheumatoid arthritis?

My rheumatoid arthritis has progressed quite a bit, and some days it's impossible to do simple daily tasks due to the pain and stiffness. I'm wondering if one can receive disability benefits in India for rheumatoid arthritis if it becomes very debilitating?

My sister has been living with rheumatoid arthritis for fifteen years and she faced severe joint deformities in her hands. She had to go through a very long process with a government medical board in Chennai to get her physical disability certificate. It was a tedious process, but she did eventually get some support because her mobility was extremely restricted.

Haan, sarkaari daftar mein iska certificate banta hai agar hath-pair kaam karna band kar dein toh. Hamare pados mein ek babuji ka bana tha kyunki unse chala nahi jata tha bilkul. Aap apne zilla hospital ke sarkaari doctor se miliye, wo aapki poori madad karenge.

Yes, you can get a disability certificate if the joint damage is permanent and severe. You will have to apply through a government hospital medical board.

Do not rely on random online forums to understand disability criteria for a serious condition like rheumatoid arthritis. The government has very specific medical guidelines based on joint restriction percentages, and only a certified rheumatologist at a government hospital can verify this. Go straight to an authorized medical officer to get authentic information.

I know how painful and exhausting this disease is, as I tried everything from warm mustard oil massages to special herbs to ease my knee pain. For official disability, home remedies won't count; you need proper x-rays and medical reports showing joint damage. Do visit a civil hospital, they will guide you through the process kindly.

Yes, severe rheumatoid arthritis can qualify for disability if it causes permanent joint damage and affects daily work. While you are sorting out the legal paperwork, please also look into an anti-inflammatory vegetarian diet. Cutting out processed foods and adding spices like turmeric and ginger really helped ease my joint stiffness over time.
