Can you put peroxide on a fever blister?

I have a fever blister that just popped up, and it's quite painful. My mom said hydrogen peroxide can clean it and help. Can you put peroxide on a fever blister, and is it a good idea for healing?

Oh god, please don't put hydrogen peroxide on it! I always overthink and worry about scarring, and peroxide is actually way too harsh and can destroy the healthy skin cells around the blister. It is much safer to just use a doctor-recommended antiviral cream.

Bro, don't do it. I tried putting peroxide on a cold sore once and it burned like crazy and literally made the scab take twice as long to heal. Just buy a standard acyclovir cream from the chemist, it works much faster.

Nahi babu, peroxide bahut tez hota hai, use blister par mat lagana. Usse skin jal sakti hai aur dard badh jayega. Thoda thanda doodh lagane se aaram milta hai par doctor babu se dawai likhwa lena sabse badhiya rahega.

Actually, don't use peroxide yaar. It is super irritating and will just delay the healing process of your skin. If you want it to clear up fast, just go to a doc and get a proper prescription ointment.

I just got my first fever blister and it is very painful. I was thinking of using peroxide but everyone says it is too strong. Is there any gentle cream or doctor's advice that I should follow instead to make it go away?

Peroxide is a chemical and can damage the tender skin on your lips. I usually prefer simple things like applying a cool tea bag to soothe the tingling sensation. However, if the blisters are spreading or very painful, please consult a doctor for proper antiviral treatment.
