Can you put hydrocortisone on eczema?

My eczema has flared up really badly, and the itching is unbearable. My neighbour suggested applying hydrocortisone cream. Can you put hydrocortisone cream directly on eczema patches for quick relief, and is it safe for regular use?

Yes, hydrocortisone is the standard savior for eczema itch, but don't treat it like normal cold cream. My doctor told me using it daily for weeks can thin out your skin, and we already have enough issues as we age! Use it sparingly.

Yeah, hydrocortisone totally works to calm the redness, but dont use it like a regular moisturizer. I used it on my arm flare-up and it cleared in like three days, but my doc said only use it for short bursts when the itch is bad.

Yes, but hydrocortisone is a strong medicine, so it must be used with care and only on a doctor's advice. We also used to apply fresh aloe vera gel to cool the skin naturally. Please do not use steroid creams on the face without consulting a physician.

Hydrocortisone can certainly bring quick relief to painful eczema flare-ups. Along with this topical application, practicing gentle pranayama like Anulom Vilom can help calm the nervous system, which often reduces the severity of skin irritation.

Yes, mild hydrocortisone is quite cheap and easily available at local pharmacies. However, using it long-term can lead to skin issues, so it's cheaper to pay for one proper doctor's consult now than to treat damaged skin later. Plan your doctor visit wisely.

Actually, hydrocortisone is a steroid cream, so it works really fast on eczema yaar. But my dermatologist told me never to use it for more than a week continuously because it can thin the skin. Just be careful with it!

I just finished a treatment cycle for my hand eczema, and hydrocortisone was a lifesaver for the first few days to stop the heavy inflammation. Once the redness went down, my doctor made me switch to a heavy ceramide moisturizer to rebuild the skin barrier.
