Can you overdose on thyroid meds?

Taking thyroid medication daily, sometimes I worry if I accidentally take a double dose or too much. Can someone actually overdose on thyroid medicines, and what would happen if that occurred? It's a constant concern for me.

I was actually reading about this yesterday because my mom takes these daily. It turns out that even slightly higher doses of thyroxine over time can cause symptoms like a fast heartbeat or anxiety. It is definitely not something to mess around with.

Dekho yaar, seedhi baat hai, thyroid ki dawa koi normal multivitamin nahi hai. If you take a higher microgram dose than prescribed, your heart rate will shoot up. Stick strictly to the dose your doctor wrote on the prescription.

My mother always tells me that patience is key with hormonal medications. You should never change your thyroid dose on your own, as even a small change can affect your sleep and energy. Always consult your endocrinologist before making any changes.

I accidentally took a double dose of my 100mcg pill once and felt extremely sweaty and shaky. My doctor told me to skip the next day and stay hydrated, but warned me never to do it again. Be very careful with the morning routine.

Your thyroid controls your metabolism, so messing with the dosage can completely disrupt your fitness progress and energy levels. It won't help you burn fat faster if you take extra, it will just make you sick. Stick to clean eating, regular workouts, and the exact prescribed dose.

Yes, taking too much thyroid medication can lead to a condition called hyperthyroidism, which puts extra stress on your heart. If you realize you took an extra dose, don't panic, but monitor your pulse. Always keep a pill organizer to avoid double-dosing.

Yes, an overdose is quite possible and can cause digestive issues and high anxiety. While managing thyroid, focus on having a balanced diet with proper iodine intake rather than self-adjusting medication levels. Let your doctor handle the dosage changes.

I can only share what happened to me when my doctor mistakenly put me on a higher dose. I suffered from terrible mood swings and my hair started falling out. Once we did a blood test and reduced the dosage, I felt back to normal.
