Can you mix excedrin migraine and ibuprofen?

Severe migraines hit me sometimes, and I usually take Excedrin Migraine. My friend suggested I try Ibuprofen too. Is it safe to take Excedrin Migraine and Ibuprofen together to get better relief, or should I avoid combining them?

My elders always tell me to rest in a dark room during a headache, but when the pain is too much, we look for pills. However, my doctor strictly told me never to mix Excedrin and Ibuprofen because both contain pain relievers that can damage your stomach lining. Please consult your physician first.

Please be very careful with this combination. My college-going son tried mixing these two during a bad headache, and he ended up with terrible stomach pain and vomiting. It is much safer to stick to just one or, better yet, call your doctor for a proper prescription.

Your body is highly sensitive, and taking such strong chemical combinations can disrupt its natural balance. When a migraine strikes, practicing sheetali pranayama or applying cold compresses on the temples can bring gentle relief. Please avoid self-medicating with multiple heavy pills.

Combining Excedrin Migraine and Ibuprofen is generally not recommended because it increases the risk of gastrointestinal side effects like ulcers or bleeding. Both are heavy medications, and doubling up on NSAID-type drugs can strain your kidneys. It is always best to let a certified physician advise you on pain management.

As a rule of thumb, you should not mix them. Excedrin has aspirin (an NSAID) and acetaminophen, while ibuprofen is another NSAID. Taking them together is essentially doubling your dose of NSAIDs, which is bad for your stomach and kidneys. Stick to one and take it with food.

I developed severe gastritis and had to be hospitalized because I frequently mixed ibuprofen with other headache pills without checking. Please do not make this mistake; the damage to the stomach is highly painful. Go see a proper doctor to get safe, targeted migraine medicine.

I totally panicked once when I took an ibuprofen right after an Excedrin, thinking I had made a fatal mistake. Thankfully, my doctor reassured me that a one-time accidental dose won't kill you, but warned me never to do it regularly due to stomach risks. Just drink plenty of water and don't stress.
