Can you live with only 1 kidney?

My friend had a birth defect and has always had only one kidney. He's always been told to be careful, but he lives a pretty active life. I was just wondering generally if it's truly sustainable to live your whole life with only one kidney without major health problems later on.

Of course you can! Think of it as a weight loss program where you lost an organ. Just drink your water and stay away from too much salt—your single kidney is a solo warrior, treat it like a king!

Yes, you can, but please be very cautious. I had some protein leakage issues in my single kidney because I was negligent about my diet early on. It is extremely important to consult a nephrologist regularly to monitor your filtration rates.

Actually yaar, so many people donate a kidney and live completely normal lives for decades. You just have to make minor lifestyle tweaks, like staying hydrated and not popping painkillers randomly. It's totally chill, don't worry.

I have guided many people in this group who have only one kidney, and they are all doing wonderfully. The remaining kidney naturally adapts to do the work. Just focus on fresh, home-cooked food and keep your blood pressure under tight control.

Drinking coconut water and eating fresh gourd vegetables helps keep the body cool and reduces strain on the kidney. However, if you ever experience swelling in your feet or face, please do not rely on home remedies and visit a doctor immediately.
