Can you live off one kidney?

My friend recently had surgery where one of her kidneys was removed due to a cyst. She is recovering well, but we are all wondering what life will be like for her now. Is it really possible to manage with just one kidney without facing too many difficulties?

When we consulted the renal department at Medanta, they assured us that a single kidney naturally enlarges to handle the work of two. However, you should ask your doctor clearly about the exact lifestyle adjustments you need to make.

I understand your worries, but you can live very well. Avoid taking random pain pills and make sure to drink barley water or coconut water occasionally to keep your system clean naturally.

Actually yaar, many people don't even know they have only one kidney until they get an ultrasound for something else! It is completely safe and normal. Just chill and live your life.

I was told I might need to donate a kidney to a relative, and I am quite anxious about my own future health. Does anyone here who donated feel any constant weakness or back pain?

Seriously, don't stress too much about it, bro. One kidney is more than enough to filter everything perfectly. Just limit the heavy drinking and smoking, drink your water, and you're good to go!
