Can you live normally with one kidney?

My brother had a medical condition a few years ago that resulted in him losing one kidney. He seems to be doing fine, but I'm always a little worried about him. I want to know if it's truly possible for him to live a completely normal life without any long-term complications.

My son was born with only one functioning kidney, and he is 14 now, playing sports and doing perfectly fine. We just make sure he drinks plenty of water and avoids contact sports where he might get hit in the back.

Yes, life can be normal, but you must get your kidney function tests (KFT) and urine tests done every six months. It is always safer to catch any minor infection or protein leakage early so you don't face sudden issues.

Don't worry, thousands of people live with one kidney without any problem. Just make some simple changes: cook food with less salt, avoid high-sodium processed foods, and drink 2-3 liters of clean water daily.

Please don't follow random YouTube videos advising detox juices or herbal powders for kidney health. Some of these herbs can actually damage your single kidney. Always verify any diet changes with a qualified doctor.

Hey, don't stress too much about this! My uncle has been living with one kidney for 30 years and he literally does everything normally. Just eat healthy, stay hydrated, and enjoy your life!

I had some serious kidney swelling issues after taking heavy painkillers without realizing I only had one fully active kidney. Please be extremely careful with medications and consult a nephrologist before taking any pain relief tablets.

Since you have one kidney, keeping your blood pressure under tight control is absolutely vital. High BP can damage kidney blood vessels over time, so do regular home BP checks and eat a low-sodium diet.
