I also have Type 1 and was wondering if there are any back-end or desk jobs in the army where this is allowed? Or is the medical test completely the same for all positions? It is so stressful to think about.
Honestly, Type 1 diabetes requires regular insulin shots and constant monitoring of blood sugar. Because army postings can be in remote, extreme areas where storage of insulin is tough, they cannot clear you for service. It is simply too risky for your health.
Haan na, Type 1 is very tough to manage without proper timely meals. Army physical training is so intense, and sudden low sugar can be very dangerous, ho na. So they don't allow it for safety reasons.
I agree with others here. Type 1 diabetes is a strict disqualification because of the daily dependence on insulin.
In my long life, I have seen that God always opens other doors when one closes. Do not feel down because of this medical restriction; managing your Type 1 health is your primary duty now. You can serve the country in so many other wonderful ways.
