Can you have tonsillitis without fever?

My throat has been super sore for a few days, and it's painful to swallow, but I don't have any fever at all. My mom thinks it's tonsillitis, but I remember having fever with it before. Is it possible to have tonsillitis without a fever, or is it something else?

Yes, you can have tonsillitis with just swelling and a severe throat ache without a fever. Gargling with warm salt water three times a day always helps me soothe the inflammation. Try that, but see a doctor if swallowing gets too hard.

Definitely possible. I had a busy week and felt a sharp pain in my throat but no fever, so I ignored it until I couldn't speak in meetings. Don't wait for a fever to show up, just get a quick doctor consult and manage it before it gets worse.

I am also facing this right now. My throat is super swollen and has white spots, but my temperature is completely normal. Has anyone else had white spots on tonsils without running a fever?

Yes, chronic tonsillitis often doesn't cause a fever, just throat irritation and difficulty swallowing. During this time, avoid cold water and oily food, and try to have warm soups and soft khichdi to soothe the throat passages.

Haan na, bilkul ho sakta hai. Fever nahi hai iska matlab ye nahi ki tonsils thik hain. Mera bhi gale mein bahut dard tha last month par fever bilkul nahi aaya. Warm water piyo thoda relief milega.
