Can you have strep throat without a fever?

My younger child was exposed to strep at his daycare, and now he has a sore throat but no fever. Is it possible for a child to have strep throat without a fever?

Absolutely, I have had strep throat twice without ever running a fever. If you look in the mirror with your phone light and see white patches or extreme redness on your tonsils, it is likely strep. Make sure to get a proper medical checkup because bacterial strep requires specific treatment to clear up fully.

It is totally possible. I had strep with zero fever last year, but my workout performance went down because my body was busy fighting the infection. Focus on soft, high-protein foods like scrambled eggs or paneer, and give your body a break from heavy lifting for a few days.

People on the internet will suggest all kinds of home remedies like herbal teas and spices, but if it is actually bacterial strep, you need proper medical diagnosis. Fever or no fever, go to a clinic and let a doctor examine your throat properly.

Bro, don't stress too much about the lack of fever. It happens all the time with throat infections. Just get some warm soup, wrap a muffler around your neck, and maybe get a quick consult with a doctor tomorrow so you can get the right prescription.

It can be so draining when you feel so sick but don't have a fever to justify staying in bed to your boss or family. I remember crying because my throat was hurting so much but my thermometer showed normal. Please know your pain is real and you deserve to rest.

Yes, strep can definitely occur without a fever. However, since untreated strep can sometimes lead to other complications, it is highly recommended to get a throat swab done at a clinic. Please get it checked by a professional for your own safety.

Yes, you can, and please be very careful. I once ignored a sore throat because I had no fever, and the infection spread, causing severe ear pain and swelling that took weeks to cure. Don't wait for a fever to develop; go see a doctor and get it treated properly.
