Can you have strep throat and no fever?

My daughter has a very sore throat and finds it hard to swallow, but she doesn't have a fever. She was exposed to strep at school. Can she have strep throat with no fever?

Yes, you can have a severe throat infection like strep without running any fever. I often experience deep soreness and difficulty swallowing during seasonal changes, but my body temperature remains normal. Try doing very gentle throat gargles with warm salt water and practice light breath awareness to soothe the irritation.

It is quite common to have strep throat without a fever. During this time, avoid any cold drinks, sour foods, or heavy oily items that can further irritate the throat lining. Warm vegetable soups and turmeric water can be very comforting for your throat while your body fights the infection.

I completely understand how confusing and stressful it is when your throat hurts terribly but there is no fever to show you are actually sick. I used to keep checking my temperature every hour, feeling so anxious. Please know that your pain is very real, and it is definitely possible to have strep without a fever.

Yes, you can! Honestly, I read so much about this online because my throat was burning but my temperature was perfectly normal. I got so worried that it might be something worse, but my doctor told me strep doesn't always cause a fever. Please go get a proper throat swab done so you don't keep stressing like I did.

In my experience, many people get strep throat without ever developing a fever, especially adults. The main signs are usually those tiny red spots or white patches at the back of the throat and painful swallowing. A quick visit to your family doctor will help clear up any doubts and get you the right treatment.

Hey, don't worry. It is absolutely possible to have strep throat without any fever. Don't force yourself to push through the day if you are feeling exhausted. Just take a break, do some warm gargles, and we should probably get you checked by an ENT specialist if the soreness doesn't decrease in two days.

Yes, you can. I had a really bad bout of throat pain last winter with zero fever, but swallowing even water was a task, which totally messed up my daily nutrition. Don't try to push through your gym sessions if your throat is raw; resting your body is much more important for a quick recovery.
