Can you have psoriasis and eczema at the same time?

Since a few months now, I have these dry, itchy patches on my skin that sometimes feel like psoriasis, but other areas look like eczema. Can a person have both these conditions at once, or is it usually one or the other?

I am quite new to dealing with skin issues and my doctor mentioned I might have both. It is so confusing because the dry patches look so similar on my elbows. Does anyone else here manage both conditions together, and does the same moisturizer work for both?

Yes, it is definitely possible to have both, and I actually use my health tracker to log my flare-ups alongside my daily diet. Tracking showed me that dairy triggers my eczema, while stress makes my psoriasis patches worse. I highly recommend using a health log app to find your personal triggers.

I completely understand how overwhelming and scary it feels when your skin is constantly itching and flaking. I used to panic thinking it was some incurable condition, but having both psoriasis and eczema is actually known as photosensitive dermatitis or co-existence. Take a breath, it is manageable once you find the right dermatologist.

Don't stress yourself out too much over this. Yes, you can have both conditions, but treating them requires a very systematic approach because their root causes are different. Just make sure you do not self-medicate with strong steroid creams; let a qualified skin specialist guide you safely.

My skin has these super red, itchy patches but some are thick and scaly like psoriasis, while others are watery like eczema. I am feeling really anxious that my diagnosis is getting messed up. Has anyone else here been diagnosed with both at the same time by a dermatologist?
