Can you have pcos without ovaries?

Both my ovaries were removed some years ago due to another condition. Lately, I've been experiencing some hormonal symptoms again like weight gain and mood swings, which feel similar to what I heard about PCOS. Can PCOS persist or be diagnosed even if one no longer has ovaries?

Since PCOS is actually a metabolic disorder, the symptoms can sometimes continue even if the ovaries are removed. If you need to monitor this, compare the cost of hormone and fasting insulin tests at different local labs first to avoid overpaying. Planning your diagnostic tests in a package can save you a lot of money.

I totally get it, it sounds so strange that a condition named after ovarian cysts can exist without ovaries. It must be so confusing and stressful to deal with this after going through a surgery. Please be gentle with yourself and let a good specialist guide you step-by-step.

I deal with thyroid issues and know how deeply interconnected our hormonal glands are. Even if your ovaries are removed, you must get regular blood tests done to monitor your insulin and sugar levels. Regular follow-ups with your physician are the only way to keep your metabolic health in check.

Do not believe any internet claims saying that removing your ovaries is a permanent cure for all PCOS symptoms. The insulin resistance and hormonal pathways in your adrenal glands are still very active. Always verify these facts with a certified medical specialist rather than reading random health blogs.

Yes, PCOS is essentially an endocrine and metabolic issue, so surgical removal of ovaries doesn't automatically fix the insulin resistance. Don't waste time looking for quick fixes online. Book a direct consultation with a qualified endocrinologist to get a proper medical management plan.

Yes, my dear, because the insulin and metabolic balance of the body is still there even without the ovaries. Please don't worry too much and take good care of your health with simple home food.

Haan na, it is so confusing when people think removing ovaries will solve everything, but the insulin problem remains inside the body. Actually, managing our lifestyle and food is still very important. Better to keep regular touch with your doctor, ho na.

My wife's endocrinologist explained that removing the ovaries (oophorectomy) stops the production of ovarian androgens, but it does not cure the underlying adrenal androgen excess or insulin resistance. Therefore, the metabolic aspects of PCOS can persist even without ovaries. Continuous medical follow-up is necessary to manage these metabolic symptoms.
